Sway Control for 2021 Honda Passport with Draw Tite Hitch

Question:

Hello, I have a 2021 Honda Passport that Im planning to tow a small travel trailer with. I dont have a specific trailer picked yet, but the gross weight will definitely be less than 5,000lbs and the anticipate the tongue weight will be 300-400lbs. Im wondering if this hitch would be a good fit. My primary concerns with towing are managing the weight distribution and having as much sway control as possible since Ill be towing with a SUV. Im very open to recommendations and advice. Thanks!

Since the hitches that fit your 2021 Honda Passport are not rated for weight distribution use like the Draw Tite part # 76290 there isn't a system we can recommend to use with your vehicle as it may damage the vehicle frame due to the different stress these systems put on the vehicles.

You can use a friction sway control unit like the part # 83660 though to help prevent sway from passing vehicles and high winds. The best way to fight sway though is with proper trailer loading. Getting as much weight forward in the trailer is going to be best way to prevent sway though.
