Question:
Hello, Im trying to figure out the best set up for my GLC to tow a small travel trailer. Looking on your website, it looks like the Curt hitch, with the 4 flat wiring kit can be installed without any drilling, cutting or splicing. Then I become lost as to the next steps. This is the trailer were looking at: Little Guy Mini Max. I believe it has electric brakes and hooks up with a 7 pin or pole plug, not sure which. Is there a standard plug used for small travel trailers, and is it possible to plug the 4 flat into a 7 plug adapter, and then plug this wireless controller into that? If not, how risky is it to tap into the vehicle wiring? Any information/recommendations as to what would work best, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you - Michael

It sounds like you have a pretty good plan so far of using the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13290 and a 4-way connector # C59496 on your 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300.
Since your Little Guy Mini Max Trailer has a electric brakes you can convert the 4-way connector to the 7-way connector you need by using the # ETBC7. This kit will only require two wiring connections which are grounding the white wire to the frame of your vehicle, and running the black wire to the positive terminal of your battery with the included 40 amp circuit breaker.
This kit was designed specifically for the Curt Echo Wireless # C51180 you were looking at which is the option I recommend as it will plug directly into the 7-way and will not require any other wiring connections like a standard controller would.
Lastly you will need a mounting bracket to secure the 7-way to your trailer hitch. Since the receiver has a hidden crosstube you will need the Curt EZ Mount # C58000 which will mount the connector to the face of your receiver.
