2-1/2 Inch Shank Compatible With Equal-i-zer Rated For 1,200 lb Tongue Weight

Updated 08/06/2021 | Published 08/04/2021

Question:

I recently purchased a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 6.6L Duramax with a 2-1/2” receiver to pull a 2013 Airstream 27FB. The trailer has a TW of 770 lbs and I believe that I have a TW of 1,100 max when towing. I have an Equalizer hitch model 90-00-1200 with a 2” shank, and I’d like to upgrade to a 2-1/2” shank. What are my options? Thanks.

There are definitely 2-1/2 inch shanks you can use that are compatible with your Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System - 12,000 lbs GTW, 1,200 lbs TW # EQ37120ET.

Equal-i-zer makes a number of 2-1/2 inch shanks, so you can simply choose the one you need with the correct rise or drop, and I'll list out their 2-1/2 inch shanks by what the maximum rise and drop is:

- 7" Rise, 3" Drop: Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank # EQ90-02-4700

- 8" Rise, 4" Drop: Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank # EQ90-02-4800

- 10" Rise, 6" Drop: Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank # EQ90-02-4900

- 15" Rise, 12" Drop: Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank # EQ34FR
