Question:
Can metal diesel fuel containers be carried on receivers hitch mounted Platforms.
asked by: Joe
Helpful Expert Reply:
Yes, it is safe to carry metal diesel containers on a hitch-mounted cargo platform. However, when transporting fuel, I recommend storing the containers as far as possible away from the exhaust of the vehicle. A way to avoid the exhaust entirely is mounting a cargo platform on a front-mounted carrier.
If you want a recommendation for a hitch cargo carrier and a front/rear hitch, I would be happy to assist you if you provide me with the year/make/model of your vehicle.
