Question:
I have a 2017 ford expedition that only had the 4 pin in the back. Ive connected all available lines for a 7 pin, but there is no 12v hot and Im not able to locate anything in the harness. Should I run a line from the back to the battery? If so are there any resources you would recommend for wiring it properly under the hood and which relay I should use?

Expert Reply:
I recommend running a 12 Gauge Wire # 12-1-1 that we offer by the foot to the front of your 2017 Ford Expedition. In line you will place a Circuit Breaker # PK54230 and use Heat Shrink Ring Terminals # DW05740-1 to connect the wire to the circuit breaker. This is best placed in the engine compartment to keep it away from water and corrosion.
The circuit breaker will provide up to 30 amps of power, if power does exceed the 30 amps the breaker will trip and automatically try to reset. This saves you from having to replace fuses and relays that may be damaged.
