Question:

I own a 1992 Toyota pickup 4WD V6 I dont think is a T100 model. I installed the Curt hitch for this pickup model, however, the T-Connector and the trailer lights are not communicating. When I connected it for the first time the turning lights worked for a couple of minutes only, then stopped. We also own a Subaru Outback 2021 that when connected to the trailer, all lights are work perfectly. I got a four way trailer light tester and with the engine off there are not lights on the tester. With the engine on it displays / blinks turn lights, tail lights, etc. Fuses in my pickup are all ok, and T-connector is well grounded to plain, clean metal. I even replaced the tail lights since the original ones were really rusty. It didnt help. Any advice will greatly appreciate it.

Since you tested the T-Connector 4-way connector on your 1992 Toyota Pickup 4WD V6 and the tester showed that all of the functions are working but you are not getting trailer lights then there is one troubleshooting step to try.

Plug the trailer into the trucks connector and turn on the turn signals or have a friend apply the brakes. Using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 test the wires on the vehicle side connector, and if you have power there then test the wires on the trailer side connector. If you have power on the vehicle but not the connector then check the connectors for any debris or corrosion causing the connection to not be made.
