I can’t find the harness behind bumper is it possible there is not one

The Tekonsha # 20135 is specifically designed to be used on a 2005 Jeep Liberty with the factory towing package. If you are unable to find the port for this to connect to, you may not have the factory towing package. The only real way to confirm if you do have this package is to contact a Jeep dealer and have them run your VIN. They should be able to tell you right away if you do or do not.

If you do not end up having the towing package, you will need to start with a 4 flat, like the Tekonsha # 118524. To get to a 7 Way, you will then need to add on the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7, which will piggyback off of a 4 Flat.

On the other hand, if you do have the factory towing package, you will need to ask one of the Jeep technicians where it is. Odds are it is fairly tucked up somewhere and hidden out of sight, which happens sometimes.
