Question:

We are looking into purchasing the Curt trailer hitch, the wiring harness, the harness bracket, and the extended ball mount as recommended, but it shows three options (# 118524, # 118381 and # C55382) of wiring harnesses for our 2005 Jeep Liberty Limited 4x4. Which one do we purchase? And do you recommend something else other than what is listed? Thanks

Of the three harnesses you mentioned, the # 118381 wouldn't work unless your Liberty has the OEM 7-way connector. The # 118381 would plug inline between the 7-way connector and the vehicle wiring harness.

If your Liberty does not have the factory 7-way, your choices would be between the Tow Ready # 118524 and the Curt # C55382. Both harnesses would install in the same manner, plugging inline at the point where the taillight assemblies plug into the vehicle wiring.

I'd recommend the Tow Ready # 118524 harness, because it has a higher amperage rating. If you'd care to see a video of the wiring install, please click the provided link.
