Question:
Looking for a complete flat tow of this Jeep Wrangler to my Thor 21foot class C motor coach. I would need the hitch base plate and wiring harness and possibly an electric brake. Just bought this jeep and would like to set up before our trip to Yellowstone in July. Im running out of time. Is this something I could install myself with a torch wrench? I want to keep costs as low as possible.

First, you will want to make sure that your 2010 Jeep Wrangler Sierra Unlimited will not exceed your towing vehicle's maximum towing capacity. You will also want to check your owner's manual for instructions on recreational towing for your vehicle. If your Class C motorhome is capable, you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, braking system and wiring kit.
For a Jeep with a typical factory bumper and no aftermarket winches or other items attached, I suggest the the Roadmaster EZ5 Base Plate Kit with Removable Arms # RM-521448-5. However, if you have the Mopar or Warn bumper then you need to use the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit with Removable Arms # 1430-1. And if you have the Rugged Ridge bumpers, then the only base plate kit we carry that will fit your vehicle is Roadmaster's MS Base Plate Kit # 1437-3. For a tow bar, the Roadmaster Falcon 2 # RM-520 will work with any of the base plates listed above. For the needed safetly cable that are required by law, I suggest the Roadmaster # RM-643.
Supplemental braking is required by law, I prefer the SMI Stay-In-Play DUO Proportional Braking System # SM99251 as this is a fixed system that once installed never has to be removed, replaced, or reset. The DUO activates when your RV's brake lights go on and an inertia sensor in the towed car detects deceleration; no false braking. You will also want the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751452 in order to use the in cab notification system that lets you know when the brake is being applied to the towed vehicle. I have attached an installation video for both of these items being installed on a 2010 Jeep.
For indicator lights on your Wrangler I suggest the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit # HM56200, this will easily connect to your Jeeps wiring without requiring you to splice into any wires. To connect your towed vehicle's light with your towing vehicle's trailer wire connector, you will need a wiring extension. The type of extension will depend on the connector on your towing vehicle. I have attached a link to all of our extensions.
When flat towing your Jeep, you can either disconnect the battery or install the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect # RM-766.
The tow bar should be relatively level to your Class C when flat towing, you may need a high-low adapter, I have attached a link to those for you along with other product review and installation videos.
