To find out your truck's max Gross Tow Weight (GTW) you have to subtract it's Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW or curb weight) from the Gross Combined Vehicle Weight Rating (GCVWR). These numbers can be found in your vehicle's owner's manual.
For your 2007 Dodge Ram HD Long Bed I recommend the B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw - 18,000lbs # BWRVK3255 with the B&W Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches - 10 Bolt # BWRVR3200. The base adjusts for ideal vertical and fore/aft positioning and the durable polyurethane bushings limit rattle and vibration to provide a smooth and quiet ride.
