I would be happy to help!

Since your Curt TriFlex Trailer Brake Controller # C24VV is saying D.C. and locking up the trailer brakes there is a short in a wire or the controller, or there is an issue in the physical connectors.

I recommend starting with the easiest things first which is checking both the trailer and vehicle connectors for corrosion or damage that could be causing the connection issue.

Next using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 test the 5 o'clock brake output pin on the vehicle side connector while a friend applies the manual override on the controller.

If you are not getting the correct power, there then cut the blue wire going into the back of the controller at least 6" from the back of the controller and test the wire from the controller while applying the manual override.

If you do not get power then the controller is bad and will need to be replaced, and if there is power then you will need to trace the brake output wire from the controller to the 7-way looking for damage and replacing any damaged sections.
