Are the legs adjustable to fit the different size beds or are they non adjustable? Is it possible to still use a crossover toolbox with them

The Buyers Products Over-The-Cab Truck Bed Ladder Rack # 3371501400 is not adjustable along the bed rails and is not adjustable in height, although it can be installed in various positions in order to fit different sizes of truck beds. It is confirmed to fit the 2018 Ford F-150 you linked as your vehicle regardless if it has the 5-1/2 Foot Bed, 6-1/2 Foot Bed, or 8 Foot Bed.

I think your best option is a roof rack so that you can have access to the entire truck bed along with the toolbox. As long as you have supercab or supercrew cab, you can install Rhino-Rack ROC25 Roof Rack # RR29XR onto your roof. No matter which cab you have, you can also install the Yakima BedRock HD Truck Bed Rack # Y01160-59 onto your truck bed. This is a low-profile rack that can be installed behind your tool box.
