Review of the Buyers Products Ladder Racks on a 2016 Ford F-150

Today on our 2016 Ford Super Cab we're going to be doing a test fit on the Buyer's Products Over-the-Cab Truck Bed Ladder Rack. Now this is available in silver and black so see etrailer.com. Now I've already got it in place on my F150. It's going to allow us to carry gear, tools, or anything elongated well over our cab as you can see. It measures about 134 inches long. It's about 35 inches high so we're going to have plenty of space between our cab and the ladder rack. We can rest assured none of that elongated gear is going to come in contact with our cab.

Now it's also 76 inches wide so again, it's going to allow us to carry plenty of elongated gear above our truck bed.Now like most over-the-cab ladder racks, it has side rails. Ours are about 7-1/2 inches high. It also doubles as tie-down points. That way we can secure our gear. Now, it features three rails to help support our ladders, our paddle boards, our kayaks, whatever we might be carrying and it has ...

each rail has two adjustable load stops. These are going to help contain our gear and prevent it from shifting from side to side and they also double as tie-down anchors. You do have to provide your own straps and we have plenty of straps here at etrailer.com.Now, as you can see, I've got plenty of gear in my truck bed. If we didn't have a ladder rack, our ladders would be tossed into our truck bed and they'd be extending out past our tailgate. This makes it unsafe and since it's the larger of our of our tools, they would most likely be covered by the rest of our tools, making them harder to access.

So with the ladder rack in place, we're not going to have any issues. We'll be able to slide it on. Take it off, without having to unbury them from our truck bed.Now when it comes to installation, pretty simple. We've got .. each upright has two J-style hooks that go underneath our rail.

They tighten down and the lock washer keeps them from becoming untightened. With all of them in place, we can give our ladder rack a good shake there and as you can see, we're shaking the entire truck. There's no flexing and there's no movement with the ladder rack so it's nice and solid. The whole thing has an eight hundred pound weight capacity. So, again, we can carry plenty of gear and not have to worry about exceeding that. It's also all made out of aluminum so we don't need to worry about any rust or corrosion. It uses stainless steel hardware. I do recommend using some anti-seize. That way, when you go to tighten down that stainless steel hardware, it does not get bound up.When it comes to assembly, it's going to take you maybe a few hours. If you get an extra set of hands you may be able to get it done quicker. When you go to set it in place on your truck bed, you'll need an extra set of hands anyway. So, just keep all this in mind. But with that being said, that's going to complete our test fit of the Buyer's Products Over-the-Cab Truck Bed Ladder Rack on our 2016 Ford F150.
