Question:

Hey I just bought a fan-tastic fan for my Cougar. I have lap sealant but dont have any butyl tape and wont be in an area to pick some up for a few weeks. Can I just use the lap sealant instead?

Butyl tape like # 344270341411-1 is recommended for making sure you get a leak free install of your new Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent # FV807350, but it can be done with just the lap sealant you have. You will just need to make sure you apply it liberally between the roof and vent, making sure to get some in the holes so water does not get in past the screws.
