So if the camera is not mounted to the rv, how do you get power to the camera when attempting to pair it with the monitor?

The Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Backup Camera System w/ Night Vision # FOS43TASF is designed to be mounted to your RV or travel trailer and you'll typically power the camera by tapping into the running light or reverse light circuit at the rear. The system is wireless in that it will connect to the monitor system without any wires required; it does still require a wired 12v power source.
Shane did a great installation video of one of these cameras that I recommend checking out if you haven't already, since it's a nice guide to follow if you'll be installing your system.
