Drilling Hole in Bracket for Wiring Install of Light Kit # 98174LED

Question:

I am going to install this light kit on my Thule T2. To do this I am going to attach a piece of 2x2 angle aluminum to the back of the rack, and hang the lights out on the ends. I would like to run the wiring along the back edge of the angle aluminum, and it thru a hole straight down to the lights, rather than looping it around the back edge. To do this, I will need to drill a hole in the aluminum, and will need to fit the plug thru the hole. What are the dimensions of the plug? Or, is the plug removable from the wires, so I just need to feed the wire thru and then reattach them to the plug? Thanks.

You'd have to drill a pretty large hole to fit the plug ends of the # 98174LED through the brackets. I'd rather recommend you zip tie the harness to a much smaller hole instead of drilling the roughly 1-1/4 inch hole you'd have to drill, or cut the ends off and then connect the wire once it's ran through the hole.
