Question:

I am looking for a hitch for my truck and I am not sure which one I should get because some of the hitches I look at say not with a 10 inch bumper.

For your 1989 GMC K1500 4WD Extended Cab with the 10" Drop bumper I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V XD - 2" # C15317 as it is designed to work with the 10" drop bumper on your truck, and has a 2400lb tongue weight rating and a 16000lb trailer weight rating making it a very heavy duty hitch. While this hitch has high ratings your truck may not so I recommend checking the owner's manual to find your trucks towing capacity and using the lower ratings between the hitch and truck.

The Curt # C14082 you were looking at is only confirmed to fit the cab and chassis and standard trucks with the standard bumper.
