Since you haven't lost any functionality in your fan and you already replaced the batteries the remote itself could be bad. The replacement remote is the Replacement Handheld Remote for Maxxair Roof Vent Intake/Exhaust Fans - Qty 1 # MA00A01150K. You'll also want to ensure there is a clear sightline from your remote to the sensor on the fan.
