Installing a Furrion RV Camera on a 2021 Forest River
Updated 05/12/2021 | Published 05/10/2021 >
Question:
We received our new back up camera from e trailer today. When we went to install it in our 2021 Forest River Viking 17 fq. The connections do not match. The photo on the right is on the trailer, and the photo on the left is the camera. We are not electricians . We thought we would just plug in the camera, but it doesn’t match. How can this be fixed? Thank you

The Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Camera # FOS43TASF does usually require hardwiring to get everything installed and working properly. This is due to it being able to be used as a back up camera or a constant observation camera, which would be on at all times.
That being said, you may want to contact the manufacturer of the trailer to see if it was pre-wired for a Furrion camera set up. You may still be, but are looking at the incorrect port. I couldn't find anything about the Viking line from Forest River being pre-wired, but again, that doesn't mean it wasn't added on.
If the manufacturer says you are not pre-wired for a Furrion camera, you will most likely need to cut off the plug you have on the trailer and splice it into the wiring for the # FOS43TASF. Though this can sound daunting, it is actually just two wires that need to be reconnected to get you up and running.
