Dimensions of Lippert Smart Jack Above The Frame For a Boat Trailer Jack

Updated 05/11/2021 | Published 05/09/2021

Question:

Hello, I am interested in the smart jack due to the ease of use since I regularly hook and unhook my trailer multiple times per day. However, this is for a boat trailer that is not designed to accept an A frame style jack, so I will have to make some modifications to install it. I have a plan where I would add a plate to install it in the existing A frameinch area of my trailer, but I will need to make sure there is enough clearance. Could I get the dimensions of the jack above the mounting plate? Overall height, width, and depth would be perfect. This would allow me to measure and ensure my plan is feasible. A picture is attached for reference. As long as there is enough clearance at the location I plan, I believe I can make it work. Also, one more question. Do you know if the manual override nut is a standard size? I can easily tell the included tool will never work for my use due to clearance issues above, but as long as its a fairly standard size, I always have a toolbox on hand and could use a deep socket wrench as the manual backup tool. It is not a huge issue though, as I may even leave the existing hand crank jack on there as a backup. Thanks!

The Lippert Smart Jack Electric Trailer Jack w/ Footplate # LC643589 has the following dimensions above the mounting plate. It is 21.6" tall, 6.165" wide at the widest point of the head and 9.385" deep at the widest points. I have included an image to help you see these measurements.

The manual override nut on the jack is a 19mm hex head bolt.

I recommend the Bottom Support Plate # JSP-100 for helping you to create a mount on the frame of your boat trailer to hold the Smart Jack.
