Question:
Hi, Long story that I will try to shorten as much as possible. Last year I ordered an axle to upgrade my Harbor Freight trailer Item # 20440I-EZ-60. When I received it there were parts missing which has been taken care of. But due to this issue I had to put the trailer back together with the old axle to use last summer. Now I am trying again to put the new axle on the trailer. This axle is to be mounted on top of the leaf springs, not enough room to do that as there was only about an inch between the axle and the frame. So I needed to order the kit to mount it under the springs and I was told to order Item # K71-384-00. This was also ordered last year. Well the under mount kit is for a Fits 2-3/8inch axle not the axle I actually ordered which is 1-3/4. Also, the leaf springs on my trailer are 2inch wide. This mounting kit is for springs that are only 1-3/4 Any suggestions on how to make this work? Pictures attached. Thank you

I recommend getting the correct parts for the axle that you have and not trying to use the parts in the Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-384-00.
The correct Spring Seat # TRSS175 will need to be welded onto your new axle. This will allow you to mount the axle on the underside of your leaf springs.
The Replacement U-Bolt with Nuts for 1-3/4" Round Trailer Axles # 175643-Z are the correct diameter for the Dexter Axle # 20440I-EZ-60.
The U-Bolt Plate # CE20023G has the bolt hole pattern that you will need for your 2" wide springs.
