Question:
hello, i have a 2017 nissan frontier with the tow package already installed. i need to add a brake controller.. I already have the Hopkins InSIGHT Flex-Mount Trailer Brake Controller but it appears that the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller Part Numbers: RED24FR,RED39FR has a plug in play installation, is that correct? so all i would need to do is plug it into the factory harness? I know i can install my Hopkins but if I can avoid running the brake wire all the way back to the 7pin connector, id rather use the factory wiring.

The Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty, part # RED24FR would be a plug and play installation on your 2017 Nissan Frontier if you used the # RED39FR wiring harness, as long as the vehicle is equipped with the factory installed tow pacakge. The # RED39FR harness would plug into the factory provided brake controller connector located under the dash near the top of the e-brake pedal. Nissan will typically put a white tag on the harness that the connector is attached to, making it easier to locate.
The control knob can be installed in an unused switch knockout in the dash if one's available. If not, Redarc offers an optional mounting bezel, part # 331-TPSI-001 that would dress up the install appearance nicely.
I've provided a photo showing where the connector is located. I'll also link to a video, featuring my friend Conner who will run you through how the controller operates.
