Will the Malone MPG117MD Kayak Carrier fit the Apogee Kayak Rack for Adapt-X 500 AT48FR

Question:

Hi - I would like to know if the Malone J-Pro2 Kayak Carriers would mount correctly onto the Apogee 500 Kayak Rack. If they do how many pairs could I reasonably mount across the bar? Thanks in advance!

I had the tubing on the Apogee Kayak Rack for Adapt-X 500 AT48FR measured and it is 1 1/2 inches by 1 1/2 inches. That being said, Malone did confirm that the included m8 bolts for the attachment feet will be too short to attach to the bar. As they do not carry hardware that is longer, they suggested finding some longer m8 bolts to use. These should be at least 3 1/2 inches long, but 4 inches would be better.

With the cross bar spread for the AT48FR also being 5 feet wide, you should be able to get 3 of the Malone J-Pro2 Kayak Carrier # MPG117MD installed. It should be noted, however, this will depend on how wide and tall the kayaks are, so just a heads up on that.
