Question:

Hello, Is it ok to use this Curt Hitch Ball Bushing Reducer F-2 with the Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount Item # AMSC6HD to mount a ball with a 1-inch shank diameter? I ask because the F-2 bushing is only 3/4 inch tall, while the ball platform on the Convert-A-Ball mount is 1 inch thick. So it seems like there will be a gap - is there any problem with this? Im concerned that the locking washer of a hitch ball wont be set properly if the bushing is able to move within the ball platform, since it is a 1/4 inch shorter than the ball platform. Thanks.

Yes, you can absolutely use the hitch ball bushing and ball mount together without any issues at all:

- Hitch Ball Bushing - 1-1/4" to 1" # F-2

- Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount for 2" Hitches # AMSC6HD

The slight gap with the small difference in height isn't going to be problematic in regards to tightening the hitch ball in the ball mount. You will still be able to fully tighten the hitch ball on the Convert-A-Ball ball mount without issue and retain the full capacity of a hitch ball like the Curt 2" Hitch Ball - 1" Diameter x 2-1/4" Long Shank # 40038.

The only other thing required is something to secure the ball mount, either Pin and Clip # C21500 or Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # e98880.
