In regards tot he roof thickness, the MaxxFan Dome Plus vent does require a 1 inch thick roof at the minimum. So you would need to build up the roof of your camper where the vent installs to have at least 1 inch of thickness.
In regards to the handle, I reached out to MaxxAir, and they told me the handle will protrude below the roof 3.08 inches when you have the vent closed and 2.14 inches when the vent is open, as you can see by the accompanying diagram.
This vent is available in either white or black so you can pick whichever color you like the best:
- Black: MaxxFan Dome Plus Roof Vent with 12V Fan - LED Light # MA00-03810B
- White: MaxxFan Dome Plus Roof Vent with 12V Fan - LED Light # MA00-03810W
The vent does come with the screws needed for installation, but you will need sealant to complete the install, part # 34427034145-1.
