Question:

I am purchasing a 2021 Chevy Spark LT manual. Reading one of you professional responses to another customer about the same vehicleyou mention the importance of the portable braking system. When I read the owner manual for the 2021 Spark it says that I will need to disconnect the battery prior to flat towing the car. How will I power the portable braking system if the battery in the car is disconnected? Thank you in advance. J.Walsh

Your 2021 Chevy Spark LT Manual can be flat towed and it is very important that you follow the steps in the owner's manual, including disconnecting the negative battery cable.

You'll be connecting the Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking System - Proportional # BLU37TR to a 12 Volt Outlet Kit, 20 amps Item # RM-9332 that will be connected to the vehicle's battery. You'll also need some larger connectors for the that attach to the battery which are item # DW05705-1.

I recommend getting a Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25 to charge your vehicle's battery while you're towing. This uses power from your RV and will require the Roadmaster's motor home battery line ( # RM-156-75 - sold separately) if no charge line is present in your RV.

To flat tow you'll need some other items so I recommend the following below:

Tow bar: Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar - Motorhome Mount - 2" Hitch - 6,000 lbs Item # RM-522 for a 2" hitch receiver or the Roadmaster Tracker Tow Bar - 2" Ball - 5,000 lbs Item # RM-020 for a 2" ball mount.

Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Tail Light Wiring Kit with Bulbs Item # RM-155.

Baseplates: Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms Item # RM-523202-4.
