Question:

what is the recommended positioning of the front clamp down bar on front tire ? I have a bike with a front fender. Can it be placed anywhere on the tire as long as its keeping the tire down ? I am experimenting with this currently and have not found a comfortable spot.

This is not something we typically recommend due to the risk of damage to the bike, but if you have the Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # TH23JV, the rack will sometimes fit for bikes with small fenders. I recommend fitting the ratchets under the fender if they fit.

The guaranteed safe way to not damage your fenders is the Thule DoubleTrack Pro XT Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # TH92BJ because the ratcheting hooks attach at the bike frame. You can also add key lock cylinders # TH450200 for added security.
