Parts Needed To Install Redarc Tow-Pro Elite RED44FR In 2021 Toyota Highlander

Is there a custom wiring harness available for connecting the RED44FR brake controller to the vehicle wiring harness on a 2021 Toyota Highlander with factory tow package? Thank you.

You can absolutely install the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR in your 2021 Toyota Highlander with the factory tow package, but there is not an adapter to plug the controller into your vehicle.

You will need to use the included wiring pigtail to make all of the required connections which are as follows:

White wire to ground
Blue wire to trailer brake wire on 7-way connector
Red wire to cold side of stop light switch (wire that only has power when brakes are applied)
Black wire to positive terminal of vehicle battery with 30 amp circuit breaker # 331-CBK30-EB (If using # ETBC7 circuit breaker is included)

You can find the cold side of the stop light switch by using a circuit tester like the # PTW2993.

If your Highlander does not have a 7-way connector you will also need the # ETBC7 to allow your vehicle to connect to a trailer with trailer brakes.
