Will Curt Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch 13703 Fit a 2013 Heartland 5th Wheel

Updated 02/14/2013 | Published 02/11/2013

Question:

I have a 2013 Heartland 5th wheel with 10inch I beams. Will your adjustable hitch fit on these beams ? The base of the beams is 2inch so there would be a 1inch flange on the inside to work with and somewhere around 68inch in-between. I believe I read that the measurement from the back of the bar to the face of the receiver is 11inch is that correct ? Thanks Dan

Based on the measurements you provided the # 13703 Curt adjustable RV trailer hitch should fit your 2013 Heartland 5th wheel trailer. The section of the side brackets with the four horizontal mounting holes is only 4-7/8 inches tall, so you should not have an issue with clearance inside a 10 inch I-beam. The two vertical attachment holes on the side brackets are only used if there is enough clearance, so it would not be an issue if the lower lip is too shallow for these attachment points. They are not used on every application.

The measurement from the back of the bar to the face of the receiver is 11 inches.

I am including links to the installation instructions and a video of the # 13703 hitch being installed on a Ameri-Lite Gulf Stream trailer with a box frame. The installation would actually be a bit less involved in your case, because you will have open access to all the attachment points due to the I-beam frame design.
