Question:
What lock do you recommend for the Demco 12564 coupler? Is there a lock that works for when its attached to tow vehicle and also in storage?

My best recommendation is the etrailer Surge Brake Coupler Lock # e98887. This lock fits into either one of the two pin holes of your coupler # 12564. This locks your latch into place so one can't disconnect it from your tow vehicle. It also works when your trailer is stored unhitched since thieves can't hitch your trailer to their vehicle with this lock in the way.
Another popular lock for trailer storage is the etrailer Trailer Coupler Lock for Flat Lip Couplers # e98893. This completely covers your ball opening and looks more intimidating. People who keep their trailers unhitched for a longer period of time like this style since the first casual glance with this lock on instantly shows that their trailer coupler is locked up. It helps prevent opportunistic theft.
Both locks can work together and you can even have them keyed alike if you select that option and purchase them within the same order.
