Question:
I am looking to purchase a spare tire locks item number E98892. I would like to know how do I measure the thickness of the rims for 1/4 to 7/8 do I measure the back part of the tire mount through the rim or just a rim thickness? Thank you so much and have a great day

That's a really good question, and what you want to measure is the thickness of the rim at the bolt hole, including the mounting plate, for the etrailer Spare Tire Lock for 1/4" to 7/8" Thick Rims # e98892.
So long as it is in between that wide variance of 1/4 inch to 7/8 inch then you can use this lock to secure your spare tire.
I have added a link below to a video review for you to check out as well of the etrailer Spare Tire Lock # e98892.
