Question:
Im looking at the Blue Ox Sway Pro BXW1006. I will be towing an 8000# trailer. It will be going on a 2021 RAM 2500. I was wondering if I can get it with a 2 1/2 shank? and if I got a system rated for 20k would it still work correctly?

Expert Reply:
The Blue Ox Sway Pro Weight Distribution System part # BXW1006 does not come with a 2-1/2" shank. Therefore, you have two options which would be to use a 2-1/2" to 2" adapter like the Blue Ox Hitch Reducer Sleeve part # BX88187 or obtain a separate 2-1/2" shank like the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank part # EQ90-02-4900.
The Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution System part # BXW2000 would be much too large for an 8,000 lb trailer.
