Question:
Good morning, I am building a 200 lbs even-weight distributed product that is going to require a 48 x 60 hitch mounted cargo carrier. The product will block the license plate and tail lights so the platform will need lights and a license plate holder. I am looking for some advice and wondering if etrailer ever does custom builds for product manufacturers. I am concerned about regulations that might limit the size of the carrier. Happy New Year and thank you for your time.

We can get you the light kit and license plate holder for a hitch mounted cargo carrier, though we don't have a cargo carrier that is 48 inches wide, with the widest one we offer being half that width. We also don't do any type of custom builds as we just offer products made by the manufacturers.
As for the license plate holder and light kit we have the etrailer.com License Plate and Tail Light Mounting Brackets for Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier # e98943-44.
This holder is designed for cargo carriers with a 3/4" square tube rail, which is standard for most carriers; then for lights you can add the LED Light Kit # 98174LED.
I have added links below to video reviews of these parts for you to check out as well if you'd like.
