The front mount trailer hitch that I recommend for a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 31302. It's a direct, custom bolt-on option with no drilling required. It has a hidden crosstube design as well so all you'll see is the receiver tube opening.
