Can the Spring Bars On a Reese Pro 49902 Weight Distribution System Be Upgraded
Updated 12/21/2020 | Published 12/17/2020 >
Question:
I currently have a Reese Pro 49902 - 750lb TW. We recently upgraded TT and new UVW id 5795 lbs and CCC is 1805 lbs. I believe empty this is close to the max of the current sway bar system. Can I just replace the spring bars on our set? Would this work: Spring Bar for Curt Round Bar Weight Distribution System - 1,000-1,500 lbs TW Item # C17117

Helpful Expert Reply:
In general, yes, you can replace the spring bars on a weight distribution system. That said, the Reese Pro 49902 is not one we offer replacements for as they have been discontinued by the manufacturer. Furthermore, you cannot use spring bars from a different manufacturer. Therefore, the best option would be to upgrade to a new system for which I recommend the Curt Weight Distribution Kit part # C17051.
