Question:
Hi, I just bought a Hudson equipment trailer 1994 model 16ft. I’m looking to get items for the axles, such as tires, brake shoes drums, rims etc. The numbers on the brake drum is 8-222 , does that mean anything. The tires are 7x14.5. Thanks

I have an option but the Dexter 8-222 drums you have on your trailer are primarily used on mobile homes and the only parts we have available for them are the inner bearing # L68149, outer bearing # LM67048, and grease seal # 10-40.
My recommendation is to replace the axles which will give you standard spindles and make finding replacement parts now and in the future easier.
To know which axle, you will need you will need to measure your current axle's hub face to hub face and spring seat to spring seat. Once you have that measurement and your current axle's weight capacity, I would be happy to make a recommendation on a replacement. I included a picture of how to measure your axle.
For the tires and wheels, I recommend the Provider ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire with 15" Vesper White Spoke Wheel - 6 on 5-1/2 - Load Range D # TA23MR since we do not have a 7-14.5 option. The # TA23MR has a maximum load capacity of 2150lbs at 65 PSI and uses a 6 on 5 1/2 bolt spacing. You will need to measure your bolt spacing on your current wheels using the help article I attached to ensure you have the same bolt pattern.
