Husky Brute 4500 Electric Jack Manual Crank And Switch Not Working
Updated 06/22/2024 | Published 10/08/2020 >
Question:
I have a Husky Brure 4500 that I bought and installed last year about this time. It worked fine last Fall and after gain this Spring. But now nothing works. The light works but the jack switch just makes a clicking noise. Likely a ground problem. No big deal, Ill just use the manual crank. But the manual crank seems frozen. I disconnect from power, move the lock lever as far forward as possible and it wont budge. Any suggestions? Thanks for your time.

There is a couple things you can try to get your Husky Brute 4500 Working again. If the light are coming on and the switch is just clicking you would need to check the star washers on your ground. Remove the ground wire from the frame and scrape the paint on the frame down to bare metal. The system may be getting enough ground to work the lights but not the motor. If you have not used the manual crank before it has a seal inside that needs to be broke loose. Take the weight off the jack and make sure the lever is in the unlock position. It can be tough to do but that seal needs to be broke loose by using the crank. Another way to test the jack is to remove it from the trailer. Extend the ground wire down to the foot plate and provide power to test the jack. If the jack still doesn't work it may have to be replaced. I’ve seen several posts with Husky jack problems. Mine won’t go down intermittently, when I engage the manual crank system it goes down uncontrollably without cranking. Haven’t found anyone with a solution. Next Jack will not be a Husky
