Question:
I see your site says it fits a full size spare but not on an aluminum wheel? I have a full size steel wheel same size as factory wheel. Why does the wheel material matter and not dimensions? 2019 Highlander Hybrid

Expert Reply:
According to Curt, the aluminum wheels are a bit wider than the steel ones, so if your Highlander has the spare mounted on a steel wheel, the Curt # C13200 Class III hitch will be compatible and allow your spare tire to remain stowed under the vehicle.
If you'll be using the hitch for towing, you'll need a few other items to complete your towing system. For a trailer wiring harness, use # 118449 if the vehicle does not have the tow package or # 56042 if the vehicle IS equipped with the tow package. For a ball mount use # 2923 and 19260 for a 1-7/8 inch or # 63845 for a 2 inch trailer ball.
I've linked to some installation videos you might find helpful.
