Is There a Degree Limit for Out of Level for Use with Wheel Chocks
Updated 09/28/2020 | Published 09/24/2020 >
Question:
I know the ideal is to park a single-axle travel trailer on levelinch ground, but within how many degrees is considered level? You probably could never get a trailer to pool-table level so what are the limits for wheel chocks? Can I safely rely on setting up my trailer on a concrete pad that is 3 degrees front-to-back off level, using plastic chocks? Or would rubber be better, or would it be overkill and not really necessary or worse, is 3 degrees far too much for anything to secure it? For now I used a plastic chock in front and rear of each wheel, and then I used a 3foot furniture clamp to squeeze the chocks in towards the tire and each other. I dont see how they could slide or slip away since they are forced up against the tire, but I dont see anybody else doing this. Advice how many degrees are safe for each type of chock?

There isn't an exact degree limit for wheel chocks like the # 288-02011 to be considered safe or not. It's a situation where you'd need to use your best judgment and as long as the chocks don't appear to be failing you are going to be safe.
