Will Installation of Curt Friction Sway Control System # 17200 Affect Strength of Trailer Tongue

Question:
Will drilling holes into the trailer tongue to mount the anti sway bar weaken the tongue and or void any warranties?

Expert Reply:
To install the Curt Friction Style Sway Control System, part # 17200, to your trailer will require drilling holes in the trailer frame. Drilling the few holes that are needed in the side of the tongue for installation of the sway control will not weaken the trailer tongue. I am including a link to the instructions on the friction sway control system.
I would recommend to check with the trailer manufacturer to determine if the drilling of the holes in the frame will void any warranty.
