Question:
Hi experts - Were looking to purchase a travel trailer to pull with my 2015 F-150 XLT. I already have a Class IV hitch and have verified the weight is within specs for this model truck and drivetrain. Next step is to install an aftermarket trailer brake controller along with whatever else is needed. Since the truck comes with a 4-pin connector under the bumper, I know Ill need a 4-pin to 7-pin adapter. Based on videos Ive seen here, I believe the F-150 has the factory wiring connector behind the dash. Finally to my questions. : 1. What parts do I need to purchase to complete this installation? 2. Do you have a video for installing this controller on this vehicle? Thanks in advance,

You do need a 4-way to 7-way adapter like you mentioned with the part # 37185 and then use the wiring at the rear of the truck to complete the brake controller wiring to it.
What you'll do is plug the 4-way of the # 37185 into the 4-way of your truck and then run the black wire of the adapter to the orange wire that's ran to your trucks frame rail (see attached picture) and it will be active for a brake controller.
Then for a brake controller the Redarc Tow Pro Liberty part # RED24FR and the install harness part # 331-TPH-007 would be a really great option. It's a proportional controller which means it senses how hard you are applying the truck brakes and puts a relative amount of brake pressure on your trailer brakes. Plus instead of having to mount a big brake controller you would only have a small knob you'd mount on the dash.
