Troubleshooting Kwikee RV Step Setup with Module 909506000 Where Gears Seem to Jump

I think my motor is ok and my gear box seems ok after inspection. My steps make several clunking noises after they go up and stop and go down and stop. You can see the steps making a little jumping motion in time with the clunking noise. Would this be caused by the actuator being bad? If so can I just purchase the actuator? The number is 909506000

Based on what you described it sounds like you have a damaged linkage on your Kwikee step setup.
The linkage on your setup will have an A, B, or C. Once you know which one you have, then you will need one of the following:
Lippert Components Kwikee Step Gear/Linkage with A # LC379160
Lippert Components Kwikee Step Gear/Linkage with B # LC379161
Lippert Components Kwikee Step Gear/Linkage with C # LC379162
