Are Water Heater Elements Polarity Sensitive

Question:
I just installed a new electric element for our water heater on our fifth wheel. I noticed that there is no negative and positive on the new element so does it matter which posts are connected to the black a d white wires?? I was told to connect the ground wire to the furthest post since it’s the longest wire Thx for the response

Water heater elements like the part # CAM02143 that you referenced are not polarity sensitive which means that either pin can be used as power or ground.
