Curt Weight Distribution System Trunnion Bar Removal For Storage
Question:
Are the distribution bars easily removed when the hitch isnt being used or for tight backing?

Expert Reply:
The trunnion bars of the Curt Short-Arm Weight Distribution System with Sway Control - Trunnion Bar - 15K GTW, 1.5K TW # C17422 are easily removed when they are not under tension. You will simply release the clips at the top of the hitch head and then remove the top of the trunnion bar before lifting the bottom out of the head.
For the visual check out the Curt Replacement Weight Distribution Head for Trunnion Style Bars # C17307 and attached videos. Even though it doesn't show the bars being installed or removed you can better see how they fit.
