I purchased this product with the intent to install it on my 2017 Chevy Silverado WT. However, it does not fit my truck properly. This product is designated for the 2016-2018 Silverado. Is there an issue with the model of truck?

This kit is confirmed to fit your rig and is a bolt on installation.
The Replacement Mounting Brackets and Hardware for Westin HDX Grille Guard with Punch Plate part # 57-378PK is not a fit for your truck this part is designed for the 2015 -2019 2500 and 3500 models not the 1500.
