Question:
I have a “2011” Ford Edge Sport. Can I tow dolly my vehicle? If not, why? Thank you for your help.

According to the owner's manual I looked up online for a 2011 Ford Edge, front-wheel drive version can be towed using a tow dolly, but an all-wheel drive version cannot. The reason given in the manual for why it cannot was that doing so would damage the AWD system.
To flat tow your Edge, I highly recommend the Demco Kar Kaddy X Tow Dolly with Disc Brakes - Tilt Bed Frame # DM9713093 or Kar Kaddy SS Tow Dolly with Disc Brakes - Foldable # DM9713045 because of how much easier they are to use than other dollies.
The Kar Kaddy X tilts down and the Kar Kaddy SS has a ramp so you can simply drive up the dolly and secure your car on it. These dollies also have a simple surge coupler to activate the hydraulic brakes on the dolly so there is no messy wiring to worry about.
