Weight of Weight Distribution Head, Shank and Trailer Ball on EQ37100ET Equal-izer 1000 lb System
Question:
How heavy is the fully assembled unit both with and without the sway bars attached? I would be removing the Whole from the tow vehicle multiple times a year when not in use EQ37120ET. Including with ball, i will be taking the bars off to take out of receiver. just wondering if it will hurt my back or not.

The total weight of the Equal-i-zer # EQ37100ET system, including the shank, weight distribution head and spring bars and trailer ball is around 90 lbs. The part of the system that would typically remain on the vehicle after the bars are removed would include the shank, weight distribution head and the trailer ball whose weight adds up to around 50 lbs which isn't too terrible, weight wise.
If you're concerned about the wear and tear on your back, a carrying handle such as part # 303-HG-712 might not be a bad investment. This allows you to easily carry the head/shank combination by the trailer ball. It won't make the assembly any lighter, but it will be a lot less awkward to carry, which should help with your back quite a bit. I've linked to a video showing the handle in use which will give you a better idea of how it works.
