Factory Backup Camera Compatibility with 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500 Louvered Tailgate

Question:

Hi, I would like to relocate my factory backup camera onto the Stromberg VGM-14-4000 tailgate for my 2015 Chevy 2500 HD Silverado LT utilizing the same camera and cord. Is there a bracket that I can install the camera into?

We get asked this question a lot. There is not a mount for your camera that is directly compatible with the Stromberg Carlson 4000 Series 5th Wheel Louvered Tailgate with Lock for GM Trucks # VGM-14-4000 or any of the other replacement options like the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series 5th Wheel Tailgate with Open Design for GM Trucks # VGM-14-100.

I am aware that people have made this work, but I don't have anything that is a direct fit. It will require customization.
