Where are the Brake Controller Wires on a 2025 Chevy Traverse?

Question:

You have brake controllers listed for a 2025 Traverse as without towing package. Every model of a 2025 Traverse has a towing package factory installed. Where is the brake controller plug located? under dash or kick panel?

Hey Don, thanks for reaching out!

I checked out the owner's manual for your 2025 Traverse and according to page 258 it says "if equipped" and there are blunt cut wires that need to be spliced into.

This means you'll need to hardwire the brake controller. The blunt cut wires (if equipped) will be located inside the front driver side instrument panel. You'll need to have 12V power connected to your engine block in order for all of the wires to fully function.

I recommend picking up the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Universal Wiring Harness # RED52VR since it can be installed virtually anywhere, and the control knob takes up minimal space in your cab.

Hey Don, did you get a chance to hardwire the brake controller in your Traverse? I'm curious if the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty worked out for you, as it might help others in a similar situation!

@JonG I connected to the factory plug under the dash. I couldnt see the plug but felt it and pulled out the dummy. visually matched it up to a harness at tekonsha website and installed it. Works great. I think it was for a 2022 Explorer. You can see pics of it if you search on a ford explorer st forum.

@Don I have been looking for this allusive plug and or blunt wires. I am very mechanical but apparently blind! please help on exact location you found this allusive plug / wires? Thanks for any help!
