Electric trailer brakes like the ones found on the Trailer Axle w/ Electric Brakes - EZ-Lube - 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern - 89" - 3,500 lbs # e43SR can be used on boat trailers that go in both salt and fresh water, but there are a few things that you'd need to consider.
First, obviously electricity and water don't mix; for that reason you'll want to make sure that you unplug your trailer connector any time you're launching or retrieving the boat.
Second, if you're wanting to use electric brakes on a boat trailer, you'll want to use something like the Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Dacromet - 12" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 5.2K to 7K # AKEBRK-7-D because the dacromet coating is going to help fight off corrosion that you'll experience on brakes for a boat trailer. These will be able to handle salt water use.
The brake assemblies that you'll want to use will depend on the weight capacity of the trailer axle you've got, and if you don't already have electric brake assemblies on your trailer you will need to get a brake controller, wiring, and a 7 way connector for both the trailer and potentially your tow vehicle.
If you can tell me a little bit more information about your current trailer and what type of brakes you've got on it, I'm happy to help you locate all of the parts you need to add electric brakes to your trailer. I've also linked a helpful article we did on this process.
